Our puppies may be ready for adoption as early as 8 weeks old. No puppy goes home before 8 weeks of age. We’ll confirm each puppy’s readiness and arrange pickup with you personally.
Every puppy receives a veterinary check, age-appropriate vaccinations, and deworming. You’ll receive a health record showing the care given before your puppy leaves us.
A FAMILIAR FIRST MEAL
The Food They Know.
We feed Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice and strongly recommend continuing with the food your puppy is used to. We send a small bag home to help you get started.
If you prefer another brand, that’s fine too. The food we send gives you a familiar starting point for a gradual transition to your chosen food.
YOUR AKC REGISTRATION
An Insurance Option to Explore.
If you’d like pet insurance, we recommend looking into AKC Pet Insurance, although we don’t personally use it.
AKC registration may make your puppy eligible for an initial 30-day accident-and-illness offer. Activation is required within 28 days of registration. Eligibility, availability, and coverage depend on your state and the policy; registration alone does not activate insurance.
This is a plain-language summary of our written health guarantee. We’ll review the complete agreement with you before purchase; your signed copy records the terms for your puppy.
10 Days
Your First Vet Visit
Have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of purchase. The guarantee covers qualifying clinical illness or death from an injury sustained or illness likely contracted on or before sale and delivery, as determined within that period.
30 Days
Congenital & Hereditary Conditions
The same remedies apply if a licensed veterinarian determines within 30 days of purchase that a congenital or hereditary defect adversely affects your puppy’s health, or caused the puppy’s death.
30 Days
Cherry Eye
If your puppy develops cherry eye within 30 days of purchase, our written guarantee provides a $200 reimbursement. It does not provide a return for a full refund for that condition alone.
Remedies for a Qualifying Claim
For the qualifying illness or congenital/hereditary conditions described above, the written guarantee offers these options:
Return the puppy for a complete refund.
Return the puppy for a replacement of equal value.
Keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for veterinary fees to make the puppy healthy, up to the purchase price.
The illness remedies do not apply to a health problem disclosed in writing at sale when we have provided a veterinarian-issued health certificate.
Keep These Deadlines Handy
Within 2 business days of the veterinarian’s certification, notify us and provide the examining veterinarian’s name, address, and telephone number. The written guarantee makes timely notice a condition of these remedies.
Within 5 days of receiving the certification, provide it to us.
Within 14 days after we receive the certification, any refund or reimbursement required by the guarantee is due.
Registration Paperwork
For a puppy sold as registerable, if we do not provide all documents needed for registration within 120 days, the written guarantee offers either returning the puppy for a full refund or keeping the puppy with a 50% refund of the purchase price.
